About half of Gunlance damage comes from shelling, which cannot crit and ignores element; the fire Auguring Omen and Fire Attack 3 are there because Gogmazios calls for elemental damage (fire for the first two phases, a dragon copy for the third). Watch your stamina: drop the guard between attacks so it refills. Affinity is low, which matters less on a weapon that deals so much fixed shelling damage.
Mutual Hostility II4 ptsGogmazios Helm α, Coil α and Greaves β plus the weapon roll make four points of Gogmapocalypse. Rank I raises the fire Auguring Omen's element while the monster is enraged, on lance pokes only: shells ignore element. Rank II adds an oil barrier that absorbs a heavy hit and then goes on cooldown, one more layer on top of the guard so the regeneration keeps you topped up without sheathing.
Super Recovery I2 ptsRecovery SpeedRecovery UpGogmazios Helm α and Numinous Shroud β each carry Zoh Shia's Pulse. Super Recovery lets health keep recovering past the red portion, Recovery Speed 3 quadruples the speed and Recovery Up 3 raises every tick: a steady heal over time for the whole health bar.
Peak PerformanceDarcblade rarely takes Peak Performance, but here the heal over time erases chip damage without sheathing, so the raw bonus at full health stays up for most of the hunt.
Burst Boost I2 ptsG. Ebony Braces β and Gogmazios Coil α each carry Ebony Odogaron's Power: Burst lasts longer and grants +8 attack while active, on top of Burst 5.
GuardGuard UpThe three Ironwall jewels give Guard 3 (less knockback and stamina drain on block), and Shield/Ironwall adds Guard Up 3, which lets you block unblockable attacks. Scripted attacks still go through, such as Gogmazios's phase-three ultimate if you fail to power it down.
G. Ebony Braces β is rarity 6, so Transcendence upgrades its 2-1 slots to 3-2, which fits the second Chain jewel and a Jumping jewel.
Phase three of Gogmazios: swap to a dragon Auguring Omen with Dragon/Ironwall Jwl [3] in place of the Blaze one. The rest of the build stays the same.
Against other monsters, drop the Blaze/Ironwall jewel or match it to the weapon's element; Darcblade says the elemental parts are only there for Gogmazios.
The charm is a random roll (Artillery 3, Elemental Absorption 1, slots 1-1). Without an Artillery 3 charm, Artillery has to come from weapon jewels instead, at the cost of Guard or Fire Attack.
Divine Blessing is only at 1: swap some Recovery or Medicine jewels for Protection jewels if you want it higher.

Shelling deals fixed damage that ignores element and cannot crit, so element normally matters little. Gogmazios is the exception: it takes elemental damage well (fire, then dragon in phase three), which is why this build carries Fire Attack 3 and Elemental Absorption 3.
Yes for Mutual Hostility II: the Gogmapocalypse roll on the Auguring Omen is the fourth Gogmazios point. Without it the build keeps Mutual Hostility I only.
