Ostrak Oblivion forged from one element infusion and three attack infusions, attack focus, upgraded to its Gogma form. The element barely matters for a raw build: Darcblade uses a dragon one and a sleep one.

Block everything you can: Guard 3 cuts knockback and stamina cost, Guard Up 3 blocks unblockables, and a perfect block triggers Offensive Guard's 15% raw bonus. Power Clashes and recovering from webbing or pins trigger Binding Counter. Keep hitting to overcome the Gore Magala virus bar (or eat a Nulberry) before it fills, or you take double damage; beat it and Black Eclipse grants 25% affinity with Antivirus 3. Stun Resistance 3 stops offsets and tackles from ever stunning you. Darcblade calls it his comfiest Great Sword build and his second favourite.

Gore Greaves β plus the Gore Magala's Tyranny roll give Black Eclipse: a modified Frenzy bar fills above your health. Deal enough damage to overcome it and you get bonus affinity, 15% raised to 25% by Antivirus 3; fail and you take double damage until it wears off. Nulberries clear the bar.

The three Handicraft jewels max Offensive Guard, Guard Up and Focus, and the rolled charm brings Guard 3. Perfect blocks give a 15% raw bonus, knockback and stamina cost from blocking drop, and Guard Up blocks unblockable attacks. Handicraft 3 comes along from the dual jewels.

The four γ pieces unlock Guts: extra raw at lower defence until it saves you from one lethal hit, then a large defence and resistance bonus instead. Two Arkveld pieces add Hasten Recovery, health back for landing hits, scaled for the Great Sword's slower hits.

If you are missing a piece
DPS instead of comfort: replace the Handicraft dual jewels with Attack, Expert or, above all, Critical Boost jewels, but keep a Focus jewel.
Depending on your charm, Guardian/Ironwall, Shield/Ironwall and Focus/Ironwall jewels give a similar result without Handicraft.
The Golden Age Charm (Guard 3, Flayer 1, one weapon slot and two armor slots) is Darcblade's own roll; a different charm that drops the defensive skills can be better.
