How to play it

Fight without sheathing to heal: Hasten Recovery II returns health on every exchange, Super Recovery lets the bar climb past the red portion, and Recovery Speed quadruples the red-portion recovery. Stay on the monster's softest parts, since Flayer 5 and Weakness Exploit 4 only work at hitzone 45 or more. Taking an elemental hit is not all bad: Elemental Absorption 3 from the Arkvulcan coil grants elemental attack and resistance to that element for a while. Power Prolonger 3 keeps shield, sword and axe charges up longer, Razor Sharp 3 protects the short white sharpness and Rapid Morph 3 speeds every morph. The build has no guard or mobility skills, so it can feel static.

Synergies

  1. Hasten Recovery II4 pts

Hasten Recovery II: healing by attacking

Three Arkvulcan γ pieces and the Arkveld's Hunger roll reach four points: Hasten Recovery II regenerates health as you keep attacking. The amount varies by weapon; the Charge Blade's steady hit rate suits it.

  2. Super Recovery I2 pts

Super Recovery past the red portion

Numinous Crown β and Numinous Shroud β carry Zoh Shia's Pulse. Super Recovery I lets the health gauge keep slowly recovering up to its maximum even with no red portion left, so chip damage comes back on its own.

  3. Recovery SpeedRecovery UpHasten Recovery II4 pts

Recovery Speed 3 and Recovery Up 3

Recovery Speed 3 (one point on the crown, two Recovery jewels) quadruples how fast the red portion heals. Three Medicine jewels give Recovery Up 3, which raises every heal: potions, Hasten Recovery and Super Recovery included.

  4. Guts (Tenacity)3 pts

Lord's Soul Guts from the Arkvulcan γ pieces

The three Arkvulcan γ pieces carry Lord's Soul: attack up and defense down until a lethal hit, which you survive once; afterwards defense and resistances go up instead.

  5. FlayerWeakness ExploitAgitator

Flayer 5 and Weakness Exploit 4 for damage

The Arkvulcan γ vambraces, coil and greaves give Flayer 5 with no jewel. Weakness Exploit 4 comes from the vambraces, one Tenderizer jewel and the charm, and two Challenger jewels take Agitator to 5. Flayer and Weakness Exploit need soft hitzones, which is why the build is filed under soft skin.

Swaps

  • Zoh Shia's Pulse on the weapon instead of Arkveld's Hunger flips the build to Super Recovery II and Hasten Recovery I: more passive healing, less healing from attacking.

  • Water version: Rzr Sharp/Stream Jwl, Quickswitch/Stream Jwl and Enhancer/Stream Jwl on a water Promised Abyss.

  • No charm with Load Shells: Magazine/Expert Jwl in place of Enhancer/Frost Jwl, and a Recovery Charm III to free the three Medicine jewel slots for Protection jewels.

  • Weakness Exploit and Divine Blessing depend on your charm; the Chain and Mighty jewels are the ones to move if you need to fix either.
