How to play it

Nothing in Chapter 1 is dangerous, so learn the phial loop: fill the gauge in Sword Mode, load phials, then spend them in Axe Mode. Paralysis from the Barina Bouclier freezes the monster every few hits, the best time to practise Amped Element Discharges. Any other armor or weapon is fine at this stage.

    Divine Blessing 3 from the Hope set

    Hope Mail, Vambraces and Greaves each give one point of Divine Blessing: at level 3 incoming damage is often reduced, which helps while you learn the weapon. The Hope Mask and Coil add Stun Resistance 2.

  2. Paralysis on the Barina Bouclier I

    The first Lala Barina Charge Blade has 100 paralysis and green sharpness, enough for Chapter 1. A paralysed monster cannot move, so every paralysis is a free window for your biggest attacks.
