Interactive map FAQ

How do I use the MH Wilds interactive map?

Pick a locale and a layer, then check the categories you want in the left panel: camps show by default, and "Show all" turns on every one of the 61 categories an area can hold. Click a pin to see its screenshot and description, mark it as found, or copy a link to it. The search box matches pin titles and descriptions across every category of the current area.

Where are the camps in Monster Hunter Wilds?

The map places all 5 Base Camps, 47 Pop-Up Camps and 4 settlements: Windward Plains, Scarlet Forest, Oilwell Basin, Iceshard Cliffs, Ruins of Wyveria each have one Base Camp (Iceshard Cliffs' is on its third layer). Pop-Up Camps sit in most numbered areas of every locale and are the fast-travel points you unlock by finding them.

What are the layers?

Each locale is drawn as one map per elevation level, the way the in-game map does it: Windward Plains has 2, Scarlet Forest has 2, Oilwell Basin has 3, Iceshard Cliffs has 3, Ruins of Wyveria has 4. Caves, underground lakes and upper ledges are on their own layer, so a pin you cannot find is usually on the layer above or below.

Is my progress saved?

Yes. "Mark as found" stores the pin in your browser (localStorage) per area, no account needed; the counters in the panel show found/total for every category and "Hide found pins" clears the map of what you already have. "Reset found pins" wipes the current area.

Where does the map data come from?

The tiles, icons and the 1,515 pins are Game8's Monster Hunter Wilds map data, reused with their permission and checked against Ver. 1.042. Pins that have a full Game8 guide link to it.
